Dental work isn’t usually cheap, but having an insurance plan can help. Kool Smiles accepts a wide range of insurance plans and can help if you don’t have insurance.
At Kool smiles, we make quality, affordable dental care for kids a priority. We accept a variety of payment methods to make it possible.
At Kool Smiles, we accept Medicaid and TRICARE at every one of our 120 locations. Even if you don’t have traditional insurance, your child can still receive treatment at our offices. We also accept a large number of State Children’s Health Insurance Programs (SCHIP) and most major insurance providers.
What does dental insurance cover?
It depends on the level of insurance. A low-cost plan will likely only cover basic services such as exams, cleanings, and x-rays for your kids. A higher priced plan might cover more advanced procedures and appointments with specialists, such as orthodontists.
What are the different kinds of insurance plans?
A Dental Health Maintenance Organization (DMHO) is a pre-paid plan where you choose one dentist or office for your children and only bring them to that location. A DMHO does not have a deductible or a yearly maximum coverage limit. With a DMHO, you’ll pay a fixed fee for each type of service received. A DMHO can cost as little as $5 to $15 a month.
A Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) is a network of dentists you can bring your children to see, but you are also allowed bring them to a dentist outside of that network. A PPO usually has a deductible, which means you will have to pay a certain amount out of pocket before the insurance will begin covering costs. A PPO has a yearly maximum for coverage, meaning the plan will only cover up to a certain amount to be spent on services each year.
